MY EXPERIENCE WITH SIGHTINGS...
Just as I was about to take my first bite of a dinner I didn't feel like cooking
anyway, the phone rang. It figures! I thought as I fought the urge to answer the
phone with an off-the-cuff remark. "Mmm Hmmm, hello"? I said politely. The voice
replied "Hello, this is Tammy from SIGHTINGS, is Donna Kent available"? This
one simple question spoke volumes to me as my mind raced back to the previous
week at which time I had sent a copy of my 1997 GHOST CALENDAR-Actual Photos of
Spirit Energy to their offices. In that brief moment I also recalled a year
earlier when I received a similar phone call in response to a single photograph
I had sent them, which caught their interest enough to inquire about but alone
was insubstantial material for mention on their show. I answered with
trepidation that in fact it was I, Donna, speaking. "Donna, I love your
calendar"!! was what she said next and somehow I knew this time, it was gonna
work. We talked for an hour and my dinner plate was forgotten...
Reciprocal telephone calls and conversations ensued, while Tammy compiled a
proposal to submit to producers for approval. The wait was tough although not
lengthy. Soon enough she called again and gave me the good news - a seven minute
segment concerning my calendar, photographs, and line of work would begin
production the following week (6 days before X-mas)! I was ecstatic! Although I
had been on a couple of local TV news clips and in various newspaper articles, I
truly never expected to reach this particular goal as suddenly as it had
occurred. Everything was happening so fast and the pace was increasing - the
SIGHTINGS production season was about to end in 2 short weeks. The producer
inquired about me, my work, my equipment, and any current investigations I was
involved with. Due to the holiday season approaching, my team and I were on a
kind of autonomous hiatus, sticking to local historic sites, foregoing travel to
stay close to home. There was one ongoing, benign spirit case although that we
had been pursuing on an on-again/off-again basis. SIGHTINGS wanted details...
The first floor of a two-family dwelling was being rented by my friend, Michele
and her fiancée' Mike, along with their 15 month old baby, Morgan. I told the
producers of the occasional paranormal occurrences Michele had related to me
such as candles jumping out of their holders and landing some feet away from
where they would have fallen had they been ejected normally and hearing a loud
crash of dishes falling in the kitchen and upon inspection nothing being amiss.
Hearing her jewelry box open and close without cause. The phone problems that
repairmen couldn't ever explain (by the way, Tammy got a taste of this
phenomenon when trying to call me from CA and hearing my phone say it was
disconnected, trying Michele's and hearing the same message over and over,
finally resorting to have the operator try and get through without
incident-needless to say my phone has never been disconnected...). I also
relayed the fact that Michele and I had each seen ghostly figures ( we saw 2
different things but at the same time). I informed them I and a few different
crews had surveyed and probed the site on 3 or more occasions and that most
times I had gotten photographic results of a psychic nature. I asked them to
refer to the photos from the month of July in the calendar to view examples of
this. They were impressed and decided to include (with Michele's permission) an
investigation with a highly recommended psychic (also from CT) as part of the
episode.
They allotted me 2 days (during a typical nor'easter blizzard, of course) to
unearth any facts and info on the house and former owners. Mad at myself for not
researching this as I should have earlier in the year, I scrambled and found all
that I could from the usual sources; town hall tax assessor's office, the
current owners and occupants, etc. No reports of anything unusual were found.
Content with my efforts (I assume) they scheduled a 2 day "shoot" for the
following week and I still hadn't begun Christmas shopping! During this same
time I became enmeshed in acquiring a Website, which due to a munificent
benefactor, Mr. Anthony Martini of Digital Entertainment, became a reality and
was up and running within 24 hours!! AAAAAGGGHH!!!
No time to think about petty worries like what I would wear or what I should
say, I was propelled into gathering photos and more importantly negatives (helluva
way to get motivated into organizing thousands of negatives - yeesh) so that
SIGHTINGS could have them analyzed by the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA.
I learned all the nearest FedEx drop points at roadside payphones with minutes
to spare ( my best work is done under pressure but this was a bit extreme, even
for me)! As if this flurry of laborious effort wasn't enough , the one night I
did go Christmas shopping, I met up with a stray beagle puppy and took him home
to spare him from a life "on the streets". Ayiyi.
The day arrived to meet the director, video and sound crew to start filming at
Michele's house. Brian Ochrym of Mirage Productions (1996 Entrepreneur of the
Year for the state of NJ) did all of the video recording and I found him to be
helpful, warm, and a pleasure to work with. Adam (no last name) was the sound
technician and was also very nice. Kathryn Douglas was a down to earth person
and did her best to reassure me that I was "doing great" every time I would go
blank (like a deer caught in the headlights..) during filming. They were all
very professional in a kind, workable way.
After a few preliminaries and errands we were ready to begin and I did my best
to film them filming Michele and I during the day. Michele was interviewed
regarding her impression of the haunting and she frankly answered that she knew
something otherworldly was causing the events in her home but that she had never
been afraid that it was a harmful entity. The rain outside did not deter the
crew from filming Michele and I re-enacting the shadow ghost incident outside
(there goes the hairdo, I thought on take #4). They continued filming inside and
out canvassing the layout of the structure.
We waited for Joyce St.Germaine, the psychic, to arrive and about 5:30 p.m. she
did accompanied by her friend Paul (no last name) who serves as a channel on
occasion for spirits to communicate while he is under hypnosis. I found them
both to be immediately likeable and well versed regarding the nature of this
paranormal work that they do. Joyce was interviewed on camera and proceeded to
mentally scan the house and property. She was extremely accurate in pinpointing
hotspots in the home and touched on some of the occurrences that had been going
on in the home. At one point when she was harnessing a mass of "stagnant energy"
emanating from a doorway in the dining room, I reached my hand into the
invisible (to me) mass and felt my fingers tingle and become very warm. She
stated that many animals in spirit form were congregating at this site and
Michele confirmed that all sorts of living wild animals all seem to find their
way to her property, content to stay! She told about where she felt "holes" or
openings to other realms were to be found and certain reconstruction of property
lines had occurred. As she was proclaiming she felt the phone lines were often
manipulated by spirit energies, 2 brand-new $40 bulbs used by the camera man
blew out, 2 candles on separate candelabras flickered, the phone rang twice,
both times with a strange tone on the other end, and my camera rewound itself
causing me to think that I could open the case to reload film, when in fact it
really hadn't rewound itself and the film was ruined...all this without
apparent, explainable reason. We proceeded to the attic...
While taking snapshots up here earlier in the day, alone, I saw a single blue
"ghost-light" up near the ceiling in one of the rooms (still waiting to see what
development of photos reveal). Ms. St.Germaine pointed out changes in
construction of the attic that she had mentioned earlier on camera and went into
a light trance. She claimed there were may beings who felt content to gather at
this location in human and animal form, one in particular she said was a
long-haired cat (one of my photos taken outside shows a cat face shaped in blue
smoky energy form). The film kept rolling and we were asked to repeat much of
what we commented on many times leaving me to feel almost robotic and unnatural
at this point and the day was growing long. The psychic informed the family that
after clearing and closing these "holes" that they would most likely not be
bothered by any further unnatural occurrences and any that might occur would be
of a positive source. The crew felt that they had enough footage and left the
premises shortly after Ms.St.Germaine and her friend.
By the time I arrived home, unwound, and tended to household business, it was
very late when I finally retired for the night. The alarm went off and I
catapulted myself to vacuum, shower and dress as the crew were expected back at
10:00 a.m. Arrive they did and the set-up of equipment began again, this time it
was my living room that was besieged.
The director moved through my house looking for the perfect background spot for
my on-camera interview and decided the best setting would be in a chair diagonal
to the fireplace. They moved furniture and rearranged pictures to make my space
more "homey". As I sat there with the lights and camera trained on me, I felt
like everything I said and did was seemingly magnified, making it difficult for
me to focus on all the "profound" things I had wanted to communicate through
this medium (pun intended). Nervous energy was manifesting in my fingers and I
repeatedly tapped them even after the sound guy told me he was picking up the
noise. My bracelet was too jingly and had to be removed. Kathryn reiterated the
fact that everything could be edited and I was appreciative for that. Forty
minutes later and the interview was over (hardest part for me).
We went for a quick bite to eat and proceeded to various haunted locations where
I have been gathering mounting psychic photographs. It was 30 degrees outside
and after a short while I was shivering with cold (I'm sure that'll look great
on film). We worked outside over 2 1/2 hours longer and finally it was a wrap!
We exchanged hugs and business cards and I led them to the highway entrance,
where we beeped mutual good-byes. I completed the drive home cold , exhausted,
and extremely happy to have had such an experience. Promptly, I changed into
sweats, ordered Chinese for dinner, and took the phone off the hook.....

There are many different avenues one travels when being involved in paranormal
research. One of them is taking pictures in cemeteries. Since the best time to
take these photos is between the hours of 9:00 p.m - and 6:00 a.m., it can
present a few problems. Most cemeteries are posted with hours and ordinances,
having dusk to dawn as the off-limit hours. As long as you stay outside the gate
or fence, most of the time, no one bothers you. It's the few "bad apples" who
spoil it for the serious researcher.
Take the case of Union Cemetery in Easton, Connecticut. This is the site where
the infamous "White Lady" has been seen and videotaped. Also, most picture
takers are well rewarded with excellent psychic photographs. The problem is
vandalism. Headstones are knocked over and broken, beer bottles and snack debris
are tossed to the ground. This year, more than 1 00 people, most of them teens,
have been issued $77.00 fines for trespassing.
When I became interested in this field and began going to Union with other
investigators, the police were very nice and never bothered us. We only stayed
maybe 15-20 minutes, took our pictures and moved on to the next location. But it
wasn't long before we would arrive to find car loads of kids (sometimes 25-35 of
them), just hanging out for the night. They would actually follow us around
asking questions, but by no means, were they serious researchers. It was all a
joke to them, but it was the beginning of the end for us. Now, no one is allowed
near the cemetery after dark.
One should always be respectful of the properties involved when taking psychic
photographs, whether it is in someone's home or in a cemetery. Remember, it is
to your own benefit to act professionally and responsibly. Don't leave any
garbage behind (i.e. empty film containers or wrappers), take your photos from
outside the fence (or stay on the perimeter, if no fence exists) then leave and
finally, remember this is the final RESTING place for many souls, not a place to
party with friends on a Friday night. There are still many haunted cemeteries
around where great pictures can be taken and you can do so without the worry of
police interference. Union Cemetery is a target because of all the publicity it
receives and the amount of people it attracts. Hopefully, the interest of the
curious will diminish in time, and we will once again be able to visit Union, at
night, and resume our search for evidence of life after death.

What the Heck is a Globule?!
Supportive Evidence for Globule Photographs not due to Photographic Artifacts or
Inclimate Weather and/or Moisture..... (or reflections, refractions, etc. etc.
etc.)
In the world of spirit photography, we have found the most commonly captured (on
film) energy form is the "globule", or round spherical shape that is often a
result of rain, snow, or other atmospheric moisture. But what about the globules
that can't be explained away by the above conditions? We've discovered some
globules are perfectly circular while others may look like a football, bell,
lopsided ball, diamond or square-edged, even shield shaped.
These energy forms can appear in psychic photos alone, in groups of two or
three, or clusters of several individual globules. Occasionally they can be
found on the outskirts of other types of energy forms, such as the Smokey/cloudy
masses and what we've termed the "dryer hose" (these and other energy types will
be discussed in upcoming issues of Cosmic Connections). They can be
solid-looking, clear, opaque, and different colored (white, gray, pink, yellow,
blue, and purple are the colors we've encountered so far - supposedly these
colors are indicative of their spiritual level. Another subject to speculate in
future issues).
Supportive evidence of a spirit body having a round, spherical shape can be
found in many statements made by people who have had out-of-body experiences (OBE)
and near-death experiences (NDE) and have been recorded, researched, and
documented by many experts in this field including; Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Dr.
Raymond Moody, Melvin Morse M.D., Damion Brinkley, and others. I recommend
reading any of the above researchers books for examples.
From my own personal library I've found the following references to globule
forms from *P.M.H. Atwater's Beyond the Light - what isn't being said about NDE,
one woman recounted her hellish NDE in this way; "a small group of circles
appeared ahead of me", "the circles were black and white and made a clicking
sound" which she went on to say was "mocking, jeering, and tormenting."
From *Michael Newton PhD's Journey of Souls, he asks his clients while under
hypnotic regression to a time between lives "How do you see individual's souls?"
A commonality of word usage is apparent from the replies of many different
people such as; "light dots, I see masses of dots hanging in clumps, as hanging
grapes all lit up", "a floating trail of balloons", "clumps of huge translucent
bulbs," "giant bunches of transparent bubbles," "dirty snowballs," and
"different lights - buzzing around like fireflies."
Many doctors believe the NDE is deep-rooted in the physiology of the inner
structures of the brain, others claim it was all hallucinations(!), but the
experiences themselves "know" what they have observed is real. They are often
profoundly changed after these occurrences even to the point that they no longer
fear death. So, with these testimonies and countless others we try to decipher
these odd configurations that are imposing themselves on our film.
I don't know how many times I've gotten my pictures back from development and
found these odd images of spirit energy and asked "what does this mean?" or "who
is this soul?"
And what of these clusters of globules? Is there a spiritual party going on? Are
they combining their energies to try and manifest as something recognizable? If
so, are they still distinct, individual entities? If not, why are they
congregating? What are the spiritual differences between globules and other
shapes and forms of ghostly images? If anyone has ideas, comments, or answers to
my queries PLEASE write in...........
